Mexican Garden in Indonesia

Mexican Garden in Indonesia

Bogor. After a quite tiring experience in a complex city of Jakarta, visiting a place like the Mexican Garden here in Bogor is a huge diversion from a busy city to a more natural scenery.

Roaming around an enormous garden offers a refreshing feel and a way to re-energize for your next trips.

There are several ways to reach Bogor from Jakarta. It can be by bus or by train. I took the train for about an hour and a half. The first train leaves at around 5:30am. The train station at Jakarta Kota opens at 5am.

The ticket can be purchased there for 15,000 IDR. There are several trains at the station with their designated destinations. You have to check for the train leaving for Bogor. It should be easy to find Bogor as it is the last train station from Jakarta.

Arriving in Bogor

Upon arrival in Bogor, you can choose to take a meal first as there is a KFC in a mall right across the road when you get out of the train station.

Mobil or cars are parked outside for you to take to get to the Botanical Garden. They are colored either blue or green right outside the Tourist Information Center. It would be about 15 minute ride depending on traffic. At Bogor, you can check out the wet market, too. Surprisingly, a Robinsons Mall is also operating at Bogor.

There are several entrance gates to the Botanical Garden. You can choose to enter from Gate 1 or 3. It is designated as Pintu 1 or Pintu 3.

The entry ticket covers all the things you have to see inside the garden which starts at 30,000 IDR. A bike can be rented if you like as the garden is quite huge.

Friends make Malaysia Truly Asia

Friends make Malaysia Truly Asia

Well, your stay in a foreign country will be as meaningful if you meet close friends. Traveling has a lot of things to offer; seeing new sites, experiencing different cultures, and more. But the most important thing is to be able to catch up with friends and discuss random things and happenings in life.

Malaysia, or should I say Kuala Lumpur is one of the travel hubs in Asia for the many regional flights originating from this huge and diverse city.

It is my third time in Kuala Lumpur and I think traveling in Malaysia would be convenient enough if you know where to go and what to do in the city since there are a lot of destinations that you can choose, whether for leisure or business.

In my stop this time, I was able to dine with friends and meet them for a while.

Transport

From the airport, one can take the bus at 15 MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) or SGD 4. Bus from KL Sentral to airport operates from 3AM to 12MN. Travel takes about an hour. Online bookings for bus tickets are available. At RedBus, you can get 30% off for February 2016.

Alternatively, you can take the express train at 55 MYR now, before it was cheaper.

Train

There are trains traveling around most of Malaysia so one can just take the train for faster and more convenient travel to Malaysia's famous landmarks and shopping malls. I have visited Berjaya Mall, it is near a train station and during Chinese New year celebration (Chinese New Year is celebrated for 15 days according to a Singaporean lady I met in the bus), good sale can be available.

Train operates from maybe 5-6am until 1130pm. Train tickets (single journey) can be purchased at train stations.

Bus

Bus also ply along major routes in Kuala Lumpur so public transport is much available. Operation is not 24 hours so taxi is your option at night and rate is double at night hours.

You better arrange your schedule because night travels in Kuala Lumpur can be more expensive.

Accomodation

Hotels can be found near famous landmarks. You can check out the rates at agoda.com, booking.com, or expedia.com for reference.

Food

There are several curry food to find. When I travel though, I would prefer Filipino so I will not have to adjust to the taste. But with friend recommendations, it will be nice to try.

G of Traveling Boholana guided me for a food treat here at KL Sentral. There is of course a huge mall connected to the train station. We tried of course some Malaysian dishes and desserts to our liking. The names, I will have to update soon. Difficult to memorize. :) Thanks G again!

Right after, we were headed to PWTC Station to go to Bistari Condo, where our friend stays, Ate Eva, who also works in the real estate rental. We had to talk some business matters for a while before I head back to KL Sentral and take a bus to KLIA2 (the airport).

In photo: G of Traveling Boholana, Amon of amontours, & J of Bistari. Ate Eva was still in a business meeting.

Below. The view of The Petronas Tower (Twin Tower) at my back. It is Kuala Lumpur's very famous landmark. This view is prime though for the picture you get by the window.
